The dispatching option was designed so that dispatchers could quickly assign sales orders to routes, and assign the optional stop number for the route to the order. It was also designed to allow routes to be reassigned in order to balance the number of orders or weight per route prior to generating the shipping paperwork and labels that are required to fill sales orders and load the truck. The Dispatching option also contains reports needed to manage routes and prepare invoices and other documents needed for the driver.
The Dispatching screen continually updates and displays order status for dispatchers. This feature alerts them that new orders have been added to the system that require review prior to generating the shipping paperwork. The status of existing orders for each route is also available within Dispatching, so that invoices or other paperwork needed by the driver can be generated.
